Brighter Futures and Youth Hope are currently looking for caseworkers/coaches to work on a casual basis as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will undergo induction into the Brighter Futures and Youth Hope Program and have access to mandatory training required for the role. This is an opportunity to gain an understanding of both programs and interact with staff.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply and work with existing Aboriginal caseworkers and coaches across the program.

There will be an opportunity to fill in for maternity positions and extended annual leave positions and also apply for any vacant positions that arise.

This is a child-related position and preferred applicants will be required to undergo a working with children’s check and criminal record history check.

Essential criteria

tertiary qualification(s) in psychology, counselling, social work, social science or related fields

minimum of 5 years’ experience in child, youth and family case management (or related practice)

demonstrated high level capacity, skill and commitment to working collaboratively and in a team environment

demonstrated willingness and capacity to support stronger outcomes for children, young people and families and program development via ‘on the job’ coaching/mentoring of caseworkers, the facilitation of training and development for staff and the coordination and implementation of project work as required

demonstrated commitment to reflective practice/group supervision, wrap around models of service provision and the 10 principles of family work practice (as identified by FaMS)

high level ability to liaise, network and maintain relationships with partner agencies, professional groups and departments of health and community services

demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills

high level self-management and organisational skills

extensive working knowledge of, and experience in, working with children, young people and families around domestic violence, child protection, parent drug and alcohol misuse, parenting skills, child behaviour management, learning difficulties and parental mental health issues

current NSW or national driver’s licence

Desirable criteria

previous training and experience in the development and facilitation of professional competency based training

experience with structured decision making tools

Remuneration

Salary and employment conditions are in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 Level 5. Salary will include salary packaging benefits. Superannuation is paid in addition at 9.5%.
