The role

You will advise and support our businesses to achieve corporate environmental goals and to ensure statutory requirements are met, risks are minimised and innovative environmental management strategies are explored.

You will:

  • Coordinate environmental management systems across the division.
  • Coordinate the implementation of the Legacy Waste Strategy.
  • Monitor and communicate changes to relevant legislation, regulations and codes of practices to assess business readiness and system capabilities and implement strategies to address.
  • Participate in risk assessments necessary to support business objectives.
  • Support the planning and implementation of environmental management strategies that align with business objectives.
  • Demonstrate positive safety culture through work conduct and active participation in safety activities.
  • Promote company values and engaging with other team members to contribute to a positive environment.

The person

You will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience in contaminated land with knowledge in the areas of project planning, financial project management, and project administration.
  • Demonstrated a high level of organisation and communication skills.
  • Knowledge and experience of environmental and related legislation.
  • Experience in the maintenance and coordination of environmental management systems.
  • Proven project management experience.
  • Experience within a heavy industry environment.

The successful person will be able to work autonomously with limited guidance while being a valuable team player.
