The School of Animal and Veterinary Sciences is one of four schools in the Faculty of Sciences. Located at the University’s Roseworthy campus, approximately 50 km north of Adelaide, it is South Australia’s only veterinary school and an internationally renowned centre for excellence in dryland agriculture and animal production.

The School of Animal and Veterinary Sciences conducts teaching, research and clinical practice through its Veterinary Health Centres. The Veterinary Health Centre practices have been developed to provide excellent clinical services to the public while educating the next generation of veterinarians. We are seeking a Theriogenologist to join an established team of first opinion and specialist veterinarians. With the opening of the outstanding new equine hospital enhancing the facilities and the expansion of the depth of services that are offered, this is a golden opportunity for an experienced veterinarian to join an exciting new venture and contribute to the further development of a first class veterinary practice and the training of senior veterinary students, while developing his or her own career.

This School, located at the beautiful Roseworthy Campus, offers a rural setting with access to the Barossa Valley and coastal areas. It is centrally located within easy commuting distance of a range of attractive living environments.

Please note; contribution to an after-hours roster is an expectation of this position.

Salary: (Level B) $84,874 – $100,790 (Level C) $103,965 – $119,885 per annum.

Superannuation: An employer contribution of 17% applies.

Term of position: This continuing position is available immediately.

Po sition requirements

To be successful at Level B you should have:
Qualification in Veterinary Science acceptable for registration in South Australia

A completed residency or specialist qualification (board certified) in Veterinary Reproduction / Theriogenology

Experience in the delivery of clinical theriogenology services

To be successful at Level C you should also have:
A specialist qualification (board certified) in Veterinary Reproduction / Theriogenology

Evidence of significant contributions to the teaching effort of a department, school or faculty in veterinary reproduction at tertiary level

Strong publication track record in peer reviewed international journals and evidence of the ability to attract research funding
