UTS: Graduate Research School is recruiting for two Graduate Research Officers in order to provide high quality service and support for Higher Degree Research (HDR) students and the UTS research community.
About the role
The Graduate Research School is a centrally run academic unit, which is responsible for providing strategic leadership, innovation and excellence in research training across the University. We help to produce the next generation of researchers and graduates who can lead their profession and their industries. The organisational structure and work of the school is based on three strategic priorities, growth and capacity, researcher development and research quality. These three priorities capture both the functions of the school as well as the future direction of research and researcher education at UTS.
The Graduate Research Officer is responsible for effective and client focused administration of HDR degrees including admissions, scholarships, collaborative research degrees, candidature management and support, governance and compliance. Additionally there will be opportunities to be involved in student facing events. The two current vacancies sit within the Growth and Capacity team. This team assesses large volumes of course applications, undertakes qualification assessments and processes scholarship awards, all within strict deadlines.
You will have touchpoints with a variety of stakeholders in the UTS research community and will work in a friendly and supportive environment with a management team who are very approachable.
You will see yourself at as the type of individual who is naturally gifted when it comes to providing excellent customer service. Your ability to empathise and provide solutions in a positive manner for stakeholders will stand you in good stead. This coupled with a broad understanding of the issues facing research students and the international student community and an exemplary level of attention to detail will put you ahead of the pack.
Base Salary Range: $65,956 to $75,454 pa (HEW5)
This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary. Employee benefits include flexible work practices, child care centres, generous parental leave and salary packaging opportunities.
This position is full-time and appointment will be made on a continuing basis
