We are seeking to appoint an Associate Dean (Teaching and Learning) to lead teaching and learning development in the Faculty of Health in collaboration with the Dean and Faculty Executive. The Associate Dean (Teaching and Learning) will provide strategic and operational direction and manage all teaching and learning related matters and activities.
UTS: Health offers innovative, practice-based education and high impact research that focuses in improving health outcome sin both local and global communities. Our learning and teaching is shaped on our unique UTS Model of Learning framework, which encourages a collaborative and globally relevant learning approach and development of graduate attributes.Reporting to the Dean, you will provide leadership and strategic management support to the Dean in developing and implementing the Faculty’s Teaching and Learning portfolio. The role assumes responsibility and accountability, at a Faculty level, for the development of curriculum, and the delivery, maintenance and evaluation of all teaching and learning programs.Strong candidates for this position should display:

  • Extensive experience in leading and managing curriculum development, implementation and evaluation.Demonstrated superior organisational and management skills and ability to work with and lead a range of staff in a demanding and changing environment
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with a range of staff in a complex environment
  • A strong record of academic leadership in a discipline related to those housed in the Faculty of Health
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategies that promote excellence in all areas of the portfolio
  • A vision and direction for teaching and learning activities in the Faculty
  • Knowledge of developments in learning in higher education settings
  • Strong record of academic and/or management achievement in a discipline of the Faculty
  • Demonstrated capacity to identify new opportunities and build collaborative relationships.

Remuneration
A competitive salary and package will be offered, including 17% superannuation. The role of Associate Dean (Teaching and Learning) is for a fixed term of three years and may be renewable (subject to operational requirements and satisfactory performance). At the conclusion of the term, the appointee will revert to a continuing substantive position in the faculty as Associate Professor/Professor in the Faculty of Health.
