The Melbourne Veterinary School at The University of Melbourne seeks an enthusiastic, motivated and people-focused veterinary nurse to join our dynamic team. U-Vet Werribee Animal Hospital is the School’s veterinary teaching hospital, located at the university’s Werribee campus. U-Vet Werribee Animal Hospital serves more than 20,000 cases per year and is well equipped to perform high quality veterinary anaesthesia. The hospital is ASAVA accredited, and also is a major component of the School’s facilities for our AVMA, RCVS and AVBC accredited DVM teaching program. Our Anaesthesia Service is well established and provides anaesthesia and pain plans for many species including dogs, cats and horses. We provide the opportunity for well supported professional growth within our busy team.

The position will be primarily required to undertake and perform all tasks and duties associated with anaesthesia nursing in a timely and proficient manner, whilst upholding the optimal standard of veterinary nursing care; displaying professionalism, enthusiasm, initiative and a willingness to learn new skills and tasks. All veterinary nurses are required to oversee student-patient interactions, in conjunction with the veterinarians. Working within the multidisciplinary hospital the duties will incorporate all aspects of veterinary practice.
