The Office for Recreation and Sport (ORS) is the lead agency for the Government’s policy on sport and active recreation. ORS supports sport and recreation organisations through the development of policy, programs and resources, the provision of funding, recreation and sport planning, infrastructure development, elite sport pathways and the promotion of physical activity.
The South Australian Sports Institute (SASI) provides specialist high performance sport management, sport services and talent identification programs to support South Australian athletes, coaches and sport programs to achieve national and international success.
Key areas of responsibility include:
Provision of a world class daily training environment that ensures the systematic progression of athletes that can achieve continued success at National and International events, and transition athletes into National Coach squad,
Manage the resources and functions of the SASI Diving program by:
- Strategically managing the resources of the SASI Diving Program, including equipment, facilities, consultancies and budgets.
- Planning, documenting and managing Sport Science Support services plan.
- Providing regular reports to program partners and stakeholders as required.
Ensure world class planning and the completion of timely individual athlete plans working closely with a team of SASI performance support staff and regularly monitoring and reviewing athlete’s progression,
Maintain a holistic, constructive and safe training environment, ensuring athletes engage with the Athlete Monitoring System (AMS) to monitor load and wellbeing,
Working with the National Coach and supporting the ongoing maintenance of key stakeholder relationships within South Australia and with Diving Australia ensuring program alignment and the provision of technical and strategic guidance to state level coaches,
Work collaboratively with the NEPP Coach to increase the quality and depth of talent within South Australia’s elite development pathway while ensuring active recruitment projects are targeted and implemented,
Assist with the management of the program resources assocated with the diving program (e.g. logistics, facility, budget, equipment, safety audits etc.)
The role reports to the National Coach and the SASI High Performance Manager and works closely with the assigned High-Performance Coordinator. In addition, the coach will work closely with the program allocated sport science and medical staff in a collaborative manner..
- Current nationally or internationally recognised coaching accreditation or certification (NCAS level 2, above or equivalent)
