Take on a key role in our overall Fundraising strategy

  • This role will be offered on a fixed term agreement of two years, to be reviewed at the end of the term
  • The Organisation The Heart Research Institute is an internationally recognised medical research institute that performs cutting-edge research from a state of the art facility in Newtown Sydney. Their vital work is mainly funded by tens of thousands of loyal individual donors, research grants and corporate support.

    The Role Reporting to the Single Giving Programs Manager, as part of a tight knit team, you will be responsible for the operational delivery of Non-Regular Giving programs at the HRI, including direct mail, cash appeals and telemarketing. Your role will be to manage and maintain the database and engage in supplier liaison and track income and expenditure relating to Single Giving Campaigns.

    Single Giving is a key component of our Fundraising strategy to build our revenue pipeline and you should have a real passion for this space. You will have the ability to work with diverse teams across the organisation and an understanding of the not for profit sector or prior experience in Fundraising would be a real bonus. Ideally you would have worked in this space previously and have 2-3 years’ experience.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Managing delivery of Direct Marketing campaigns
    • Manage Single Giving appeals such as Telemarketing, Raffles, cash appeals, merchandise telemarketing
    • Budget management including reporting on costs and income
    • Manage the Single Giving Database
    • Donor support and servicing
    • PCI compliance

    Skills Required :

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Excellent customer service focus
    • Experience in database management
    • Some understanding of basic financials
    • Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills
    • Exceptional eye for detail and quality control
    • Ability to solve problems and work well with a small team
    • A flexible and versatile nature with a strong work ethic

    To be successful in this role you will have:

    • Experience in the not for profit sector or relevant background in Fundraising
    • Experience in working with Databases. Experience with Raiser’s Edge software will be highly regarded
    • High level organisational skills including the ability to prioritise tasks and duties in order to meet deadlines
    • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office applications
