The Girls Academy program (part of Role Models and Leaders Australia) works within the school system to drive community-led solutions aimed at reducing barriers that prevent Indigenous girls from completing their education and reaching their full potential. The organisation supports Indigenous girls with a face-to-face mentoring and support program delivered through a network of school-based academies.

We are looking for a Grants Coordinator to work closely with the General Manager based in Perth to develop and deliver the Girls Academy’s strategy to secure significant financial support from philanthropic entities.

Job tasks and responsibilities

  • Compiling a strategy to maximise the Girls Academy’s annual philanthropic fundraising efforts
  • Identifying a wide range of opportunities to source funding from philanthropic entities
  • Writing and submitting high quality grant applications in a timely manner
  • Maintenance of supporter databases
  • Scheduling all existing annual grants as annual projects to ensure reapplication in a timely manner
  • Developing organisational procedures for the grants application process
  • Regular progress reporting to the General Manager

Skills and experience

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline and/or significant industry experience in fundraising, communications, marketing, education or community services
  • Experience in a not for profit organisation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including demonstrated ability to produce high quality documentation such as grant submissions, reports and policy
  • Success in generating significant philanthropic gifts
  • High level research and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong interpersonal skills, project management skills, organisational skills, time management skills, attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Proficiency with Apple and in Microsoft Office suite
