About the Opportunity Council’s Team Leader Environmental Protection is responsible for the operation of the Environmental Protection Officer/Ranger Team and the supervision of Contractors as required.
Council’s Environmental Protection Officer Team help provide a safe and healthy Council area by ensuring that activities have a minimal adverse impact on amenity and the physical environment by enforcing a broad range of legislation and Council’s policies. The Environmental Protection Officer Team has a diverse range of functions including enforcement and education of issues concerning environmental health protection, asbestos, illegal dumping, erosion and sediment control, companion animals, Council’s after-hours pager response, weight-limited roads, abandoned vehicles, backyard burning and support services at Council festivals and public events .

Salary: Employment is under the Local Government (State) Award. This position is placed in Grade 10 Local Government (State) Award and Council Environmental Protection Officer Council Agreement 2015. With a salary starting from $79,490.38 per annum.
Conditions of Employment: This is a permanent, full time position with flexible work arrangement to be negotiated and Leaseback vehicle. This position will be based at Merrylands, however the successful applicant will be working across Merrylands and/or Auburn worksites.
