The Senior Manager – Business Intelligence, leads, manages and develops the Unit’s strategic and tactical operations; ensuring stewardship, integrity of data, delivery of strategic analytics, dashboards and reporting capability to enable TAFE NSW to undertake performance monitoring, compliance reporting, forecasting and benchmarking that informs business decision-making.

Total Remuneration Package: $180,132. Package includes salary ($162,501), employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
Contact Nancy Yeung, Project Manager – Finance and Strategy Modernisation – 0418 764 143 Design, implement and evaluate sophisticated strategies for data warehousing, data extraction, analytics and visualisation toolsets to support internal performance reporting and analytics requirements of TAFE NSW.
Deliver timely strategic data insights, advice and benchmarks to support the delivery of the One TAFE NSW Strategy and to inform both NSW State and Commonwealth Ministers and representatives.
Oversight and continuously improve TAFE NSW business intelligence governance, data warehousing and data quality through the establishment of appropriate forums and decision making bodies to ensure effective stakeholder management.
Apply predictive analytics and ad hoc data analysis to support the One TAFE competitive strategy and build capability around data driven decision making.
Develop an internal service performance measuring framework alongside agreed service levels with business stakeholders in order to drive best practice business analytics.
Develop and manage an appropriate fit for purpose data quality framework in conjunction with TAFE ICT and other relevant business stakeholders to ensure sound analytics processes.
Build research and analysis capabilities to produce informative national and international reports and reviews and meaningful context to TAFE NSW performance, benchmarks and direction.
Engage with stakeholders including Regional and Corporate TAFE NSW groups to enable pathways for continuous improvement in performance and data quality.
Effect compliance with relevant direct and ancillary legislation and guidelines to meet data quality, privacy and security requirements and to ensure the accuracy of sound policy and business analytics data.
Represent TAFE on TAFE NSW, NSW state and national committees (vocational educational and training) mandated to review and develop data quality and collection policies.

Relevant degree qualification in related field or equivalent significant experience including advanced understanding of visualisation and toolsets such as Tableau, Microsoft BI and QLIK, Alteryx and text analytics tools and approaches
Demonstrated experience in the provision of high quality strategic financial and business advice for improved business outcomes within a large organisation
Extensive experience in the development and implementation of finance management systems, practices and overall strategies
Thorough understanding of Australian Accounting Standards, Public Finance and Audit Act, Treasurer’s Directions and other government regulations
