The Security Department provides a 24-hour Security Service. The Primary objectives of the Security Officer role are to ensure the protection of staff, patients and visitors from harm, the protection of hospital assets and the maintenance of an acceptable level of order, control and safety. Security personnel have a duty of care of all patients, staff and visitors to the hospital and are required to participate in crime prevention, deterrence initiatives and risk minimisation strategies

Customer service skills with a high degree of personal integrity and motivation.
Sound written and oral communication skills.
Licenced according to the Security Industry Act 1997 – Class 1 A with current Senior First Aid Certificate.
Concise report writing ability and information correlation skills,
Ability to work in a disciplined team environment with minimum supervision
Demonstrated intermediate level computer operating skills e.g. through experience
with contemporary electronic security alarm monitoring systems – Access building
control, CCTV surveillance, data entry, and Radio communications)
Ability to perform shift work on a rotating basis,
