    About the Department of Addiction Medicine
    The Department of Addiction Medicine at St. Vincent’s (which includes De Paul House withdrawal unit) is one of Australia’s leading centres for the medical treatment of drug or alcohol addiction. The work includes direct patient treatment, research, education/training and policy development. Our multidisciplinary team includes doctors, nurses, social workers and specialist counsellors, and our treatment services encompass both acute withdrawal and long term management, using state-of-the-art methods and facilities. We have a strong culture of education, training and teaching, from undergraduate students to senior clinicians across a wide range of professional disciplines.

    About the Role
    An exciting opportunity exists for an individual who is enthusiastic, energetic and competent to work in a multi-disciplinary team facilitating and coordinating project work for the Director of Addiction Medicine (DoAM). This person will have an important role in co-ordinating administrative needs of DoAM, as well as assisting and coordinating the expansion and development of the DoAM.

    Duties

    • Prepare project plans, progress reports and a final report for the projects allocated
    • Prepare, record and keep all relevant documentation including agendas, minutes, reports from meetings attended by DoAM
    • Prepare draft submissions, grant proposals, papers for publication in collaboration with DoAM clinical staff and external collaborators where appropriate and relevant to the designated project work allocated
    • Participate in educational opportunities; read professional publications; maintain personal & stakeholder networks
    • Maintain confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential
    • Assist with preparation of presentations including slide shows and other materials with appropriate institutional logo

    Qualification and Experience

    • Relevant tertiary qualification and experience
    • Experience in conducting literature review and the use of secondary research materials for the preparation of academic publications and briefing papers
    • Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
    • Demonstrated ability to deal confidently and professionally with stakeholders at all levels
    • Problem solving ability and initiative
    • Ability to be self-directed, motivated and work as part of a team
    • Strong time management skills and proven ability to work under pressure prioritise workload and meet deadlines
    • Experience in office administration and record keeping
    • Experience in planning and conduct of business meetings
    • High-level computer skills including Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher
    • Must hold a current Victorian drivers licence
