A vacancy exists (temporary full time – upto 19 months) in the above unit for a highly motivated Podiatrist with appropriate knowledge and skills to join our friendly and supportive team. Our progressive and innovative team offers development opportunities for our staff and a caring environment for the delivery of high quality patient centred care. The successful applicant(s) will be expected to be able to:

Apply clinical knowledge and professional judgment when performing a wide range of complex and critical clinical tasks related to the management of foot problems and possess knowledge or a high level of broad generalist knowledge within their discipline.
Manage complex clinical cases and involve other necessary staff in order to achieve patients goals
Ensure all patients are assessed using a clinically appropriate, evidenced based tool that involves measurable outcomes
Follow up patients discharged from acute hospital admissions in a timely manner with the goal of decreasing re admission rates
Abile to assess complex high risk clinical cases and direct or involve other necessary staff in order to achieve patients goals
Able to work autonomously with minimal direct supervision
Provide clinical services to client groups and circumstances of a complex nature requiring advanced practice skills
Comply with hospital policy and procedures when planning and delivering patient care.
Attend home visits as required.

This is a Monday to Friday day position with an allocated day off per month.

Selection Criteria
Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries

Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency and Tertiary Qualifications in Podiatry

Current NSW drivers licence – Class C or above

Demonstrated basic to intermediate assessment and evidence based treatments to both individuals and groups commensurate with years of service

Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills and computer literacy in MS Word, an electronic health record / referral system and Email

Demonstrated awareness and understanding of the complexities of working in an ambulatory and community services environment

Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with supervision and in a team environment along with a commitment to own personal and professional development
