    Organisational Overview SVDP NSW Support Services provides support for people experiencing need in NSW. It is a Special Work of the St Vincent de Paul Society of NSW and is comprised of more than 40 different programs across the state. SVDP NSW Support Services provides programs across areas including drug and alcohol, gambling, homelessness, disability, mental health, community development and refugee support.

    Program Overview The Rendu House AOD Services is committed to minimising the harm related to drug and alcohol use and other associated issues and is part of the St Vincent de Paul NSW Specialist Drug and Alcohol Network, which includes the Freeman House Centre in Armidale, the New England Drug and Alcohol Outreach Program, Rosalie House Day Program in Tamworth and Maayu Mali Centre in Moree.

    Rendu House AOD Services aims to provide high quality, innovative and flexible responses for the treatment of problematic drug and alcohol use and other areas of complex need. Rendu House AOD Services provides onsite and outreach case management and drug and alcohol treatment services for people seeking treatment for problematic drug and alcohol use and post treatment support.

    About the Role The Drug and Alcohol Case Worker is responsible for the delivery of high quality outreach and onsite case management, group work and general drug and alcohol and other support to clients of the Rendu House AOD Services. The Case Worker will be based at Rendu House in Campbelltown and will also work in an outreach capacity meeting with clients and delivering group programs at various locations across South Western Sydney.

    What you need

    • A relevant qualification or working towards, e.g Certificate IV or Diploma in Alcohol and Other Drugs or other Community Services field, or approved counselling / welfare / psychology equivalent or working towards the same;
    • Demonstrated experience in case management including; managing a case load, case planning and assisting clients with implementing case plans, including with persons who have complex support needs (e.g. co-occuring drug and alcohol issues along with mental health, homelessness or contact with criminal justice system);
    • Demonstrated ability to work therapeutically with clients (e.g. provide therapeutic interventions);
    • Willingness to work within the established Rendu House AOD Services and SVDP NSW Support Services Case Management protocols and Client-centred Service Delivery Model;
    • Demonstrated ability to conduct self in a professional, ethical and non-judgmental manner;
    • Knowledge of, and an ability to access, a range of relevant community resources;
    • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and to work independently and unsupervised;
    • Willingness to work within the values and ethos of the St Vincent de Paul Society and NSW Support Services;
    • Basic computer literacy skills including experience in computerised data collection;
    • A current, unencumbered Drivers Licence.

    Employment Conditions

    The conditions of employment are governed by the Social Community Home Care & Disability Services Award (SCHCADS). The position is classified as Level 4 (transitional) and hourly rate range from $29.18.
