Southern Cross Group Services is a nationally recognised company offering a range of progressive and integrated facility, training, development and technology solutions and services. We are currently seeking the services of a reliable and experienced Security Officers to assist in the effective provision of safety and security in South Australia.

This is a Permanent Part Time position, hours of work per week will vary between 30 to 40 on a permanent rotating roster over 7 days.

Working in a Security Officer role within the retail environment, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Performing security risk reviews;
  • Working in a team environment to prevent crime and increase customer service within the centre;
  • Assisting in the development of plans and systems to maximize customer safety on site
  • Assisting in the establishment and delivery of safety plans that provide internal and external security;
  • Working with Centre Management and key stakeholders to develop security strategies that meet the needs of the Centre;
  • Good public communication skills and the ability to assist retailers, contractors and customers in by offering customer service support;
  • Developing strong relationships and work with local Police, Fire Brigade and Ambulance Services to develop emergency protocol;
  • Professional Skills & Knowledge.
  • Responsible for arming and disarming the Centre
  • Responsible for locking and unlocking the Centre

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following:

  • Current SA Security & Crowd Control Licence
  • MUST have previous security experience in a retail environment
  • Previous Experience with CCTV
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Strategic thinking
  • Senior First Aid and CPR
  • Strong team commitment
  • Reliable and exceptional presentation skills
  • Commitment to safety and Zero Harm
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Good command of verbal & written English
  • Basic Knowledge with Computer Software.
  • Knowledge and experience operating Fire Panels
  • High levels of physical fitness and endurance capability

This unique position will require the successful applicant to predominently commence at 0500 to unlock the centre prior to opening at 0900, and requires the Security Officer to work autonomously during this time.
