Searson Buck have been engaged by a global leader in the underground mining sector to identify a Controls Strategy Engineer. Searson Buck have been engaged by a global leader in the underground mining sector to identify a Controls Strategy Engineer.

Our client is at the beginning of a major product transformation journey and are the No.1 recognised manufacturer of heavy earth moving equipment globally.

Due to strong global demand, they are updating all existing market models to the next generation of machine and have a robust new product pipeline for the development of a number of new underground loaders and underground trucks over the next few years.

These machines are at the forefront of manufacturing technology and include such features as remote, semi-autonomous, and autonomous solutions but to do this they require a number of specialised engineering professionals to join their design and engineers team.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to utilise your skills in the development of the “next generation machine” and to assist and gain experience in the design, development and maintenance of new and existing products, new systems and components to increase efficiency, reliability and productivity of their fleet offering.

Ideally you will have prior experience in the automotive, heavy earth moving or heavy transport industry and have the ability for design and development electrical systems, software specification, electronic control modules, circuit boards schematics and wiring harnesses.

To be considered for the role, you will;

Be tertiary qualified- Batchelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering;

Design circuit boards and componentry;

Experienced in Logic Control;

Experience in designing and interpreting schematics;

Sound working knowledge in 3D modelling software (Pro-E, AutoCad, etc.);

Full Australian Working Rights.

The successful applicant will be able to manage high pressure situations, be open to and have the ability to conceptualise new technology, have high Emotional Intelligence, be open to a diversity of thoughts/backgrounds, demonstrate their ability to work and adjust in a dynamic environment and have sound communications skills.

This role is based on the NW Coast of Tasmania, are available for an immediate start for the right individual and be offered on a 12 month initial contract period with the potential for ongoing engagement.
