  • As the Head of Strategic Account Management (SAM) you will be responsible for achieving business outcomes by developing and maintaining strategic business relationships and driving the activities of the strategic account team by providing the overall direction and strategy. You will be responsible for optimising your portfolio while working in fast changing, highly competitive environment which demands innovate approaches to our business, people and customers.

    You will be an integral member of the Established Products Business Unit Leadership team, working collaboratively to ensure alignment across key accounts. You will also work very closely with the members of the strategic brand portfolio and business support teams to ensure the SAM team is enabled to successful execute the business strategy.

    In your role as the Head of Strategic Account Management, you will:

    • Provide SAM’s with clear direction on creation and execution of account plans, target setting and reporting, ensuring alignment with business goals.
    • Collaborate closely with the business unit Marketing team and Business Development functions to ensure alignment for success.
    • Monitor and review the planning and execution of account plans as well as monitor sales, costs and profitability for all strategic accounts.
    • Develop, execute and monitor the SAM KPI’s ensuring alignment to marketing strategies, productivity and effectiveness.
    • Direct and coach SAMs during in-field visits with a focus on the quality of interactions and outcomes.
    • Embrace a high performing SAM team and culture through hands-on management, leadership and coaching.
    • Own and engage key customer relationships.
    • Lead all aspects of SAM recruitment including a comprehensive on-boarding approach.

      You will have undergraduate degree in marketing, business/commerce, or life sciences and have extensive sales, account management or product marketing experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, consumer goods or related industry.

      Your experience with sales management, business planning and budget development, familiarity with competitive activity in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry and experience in business to business selling and partnering will ensure your success in this role. Generic and/or biosimiliar sales / sales leadership experience via a multichannel approach as well as a strong knowledge and relationships with the Australian hospital setting and pharmaceutical compounders is highly regarded.
