    ABOUT THE ROLE
    The REA Group’s strategy is to change the way the world experiences property. The AAP tribe plays an important role in that strategy by developing, maintaining and improving the native mobile consumer experience. In addition to that the AAP mobile squads provide mobile development leadership and support to the broader organisation, including domestic and international products and brands. To be able to deliver the best consumer experiences at scale in the most efficient and technically sustainable way, AAP believes that integrated services and mobile oriented service architecture are vital to our continuing success. In this role, you will work as a member of the native mobile squads, designing, developing and maintaining these mobile services.

    WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
    We are looking to add a Senior Developer and Developer to this team who will be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining our products in a collaborative team environment. You will be expected to implement solutions using a variety of programming languages, databases and cloud technologies. You will follow agile software development practices such as test driven development, continuous delivery and pair programming. You will form a part of a small cross-functional team and will make a contribution to the success of the team’s mission. You will use your skills and experience to mentor more junior team members.
    The Senior Developer / Developer supports the AAP Tribe in the following ways:

    • Designing, coding, testing and deploying new software products using a variety of technologies and platforms
    • Maintaining existing products, including bug fixes and “Business As Usual” feature enhancements
    • Supporting production systems
    • Building high quality solutions that meet the needs of our users
    • Leading the implementation of major features
    • Providing technical mentoring and guidance to less experienced members of the team

    WHAT WE’RE AFTER

    • Advanced/ Developed skills in one or more of our programming languages – Java, Scala, Ruby and JavaScript
    • Advanced/ Developed skills in building full stack web products using open source and cloud technologies
    • Advanced/ Developed skills in modern software development techniques such as object orientation, test driven development, micro-services and continuous delivery
    • Developed skills in implementing solutions that scale and perform for millions of users
    • Able to be effective in a collaborative team environment
    • 5+ years of experience working in software development
    • Tertiary qualification in Computer Science or similar highly desirable
