Job Description:

Responsible for managing the FOH operations of the restaurant including selection, development and performance management of FOH employees.

Optimise profits and ensure that guests are satisfied with their dining experience. The Restaurant Manager reports to the General Manager.

Restaurant Manager Main Duties:

  • Coordinating the entire operation of the restaurant.
  • Managing staff and management and providing them with coaching and direction.
  • Responding to customer complaints.
  • Ensuring that all employees adhere to the company’s uniform standards and grooming.
  • Meeting and greeting customers and organising table reservations.
  • Recruiting, training and motivating staff.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to managers and staff and assess performance on an ongoing basis.
  • Create a positive guest experience by delivering a high level of quality, service and cleanliness.
  • Consistently monitor product and labor costs to remain within goals.
  • Solicit guest feedback to understand the needs and wants of customers.
  • Follow policies and procedures, including those for cash handling and safety/security.
  • Monitor and maintain the POS System.

Restaurant Manager Requirements:

  • Self-discipline, initiative, leadership ability and outgoing.
  • Organised and customer focused.
  • Pleasant, polite manner and a neat and clean appearance.
  • Ability to motivate employees to work as a team to ensure that food and service meet appropriate standards.
  • Must be able to handle the pressures of simultaneously coordinating a wide range of activities and recommend appropriate solutions to restaurant problems.
  • Must possess good communication skills for dealing with diverse staff and customers.

Required experience:

  • Restaurant Management: 2 years

Required licence or certification:

  • Responsible Service of Alcohol
