Specific responsibilities of a Media Officer (AO4) are outlined below: • Write media releases and media responses to ensure accuracy and objectivity. • Proactively seek and generate media opportunities. • Assist in planning media activities. • Develop media contacts and monitor media coverage. • Prepare media analysis and tracking reports. • Review content for social media. • Coordinate, facilitate and track the management of media releases between Media Services, business units, Deputy Directors-General and the Minister’s office. • Facilitate media approvals for the department. • Communicate critical information about departmental business to stakeholders and the public in a clear and consistent manner, including anticipated benefits and effect for particular groups. • Monitor changes in industry and community attitudes within Queensland that could impact on EHP/NPSR. • Maintain current knowledge of latest trends and best practice in the area of media. • Help to maintain and implement Media Services policies, protocols and standards.
