Due to increased project work, an opportunity has arisen in our Major Projects team for an experienced Project Manager. The project will see you deliver a ‘time critical asset’ telecommunications rail upgrade project. The project involves replacing consoles in trains, building small communications towers and project managing radio spectrum clearance (swap over from analogue to digital spectrum).
You’ll be responsible for directing an inhouse project team as well as interfacing with Kordia’s design and field resources teams.
More specifically, your role will involve:
Customer relationship management, involving project status reports and issue management
Liaising with all levels of staff within customer organisations to gather customer requirements
Project managing all installation and commissioning on the customer network
Manage a team of site controllers, schedulers, logistics and 3rd party contractors
Act as the escalation channel for all customer technical / project / quality issues and concerns
Ensure that all project / contract milestones are delivered on time and within budget.
Maintain and control costs, schedule and quality of project activities to margin and time and meet agreed customer requirements
Ensure all contract revenues are maximized including monitoring the contract to identify opportunities to charge the customer for early delivery / on-site support and the like matters
Upon successful completion of all deliverables ensure invoicing is initiated and any variations managed to completion and invoice
Participation in/chair regular meetings both with the customer and internal departments
Development and delivery of reports to management on the operational performance of the group against customer SLA’s and internal KPI targets To be considered, you will need:
Tertiary studies in an engineering or business management discipline would be highly regarded
Project management certification would be highly desirable (i.e., PMP, PMBOK)
Previous Project Management experience in the Telecommunications Industry. Experience in the Rail industry is also desirable.
At least 5 years managing professionals and technical staff
Previous experience on projects with rate card pricing structures and ideally have managed complex variations claims on projects
Must have a well-developed commercial acumen and have been responsible for overall profit and loss on projects (i.e., revenues, margin & EBIT targets)
Experience with managing sub-contractors from installation through to maintenance support
Must have demonstrated the ability to develop and foster long term customer relationships
