In this way we enable the States primary industry sectors and regions to remain competitive, productive and sustainable.
The Research Officer, Pulse Breeding Australia under the direction of the Research Scientist at Clare, assists with the management and coordination of breeding, evaluation and herbicide screening nurseries at multiple locations in SA, collating and interpreting data, reporting outcomes to PBA crop leaders and the agricultural community and attending annual PBA Release Advisory Group and Crop Operation meetings. A key role of this position is ongoing collaboration with interstate co-ordinators on the PBA lentil, chickpea and field pea programs located in Victoria, Western Australia, Queensland and New South Wales. The supervision of technical and casual staff will also be required.
A Bachelor Degree in Agriculture or equivalent is required.
Interstate and intrastate travel will be required. Some out of hours work will be required during harvest and other periods of peak work demand. A current Class C drivers licence is essential. A Chem Cert certificate or willingness to obtain one is essential.
