Reporting to the Food and Beverage Manager, this full-time position is responsible for co-ordinating and managing the many varied events and functions for our race days and non-race days across a range of venues from intimate bars to picturesque gardens, each with tailor-designed food and beverage packages to suit every occasion.

Primary Duties

  • Manage labour budget and ensure rosters are costed per event
  • Work with events coordinators to ensure correct and adequate information flow
  • Managing the set-up of all events at Perth Racing venues
  • Implementing and maintaining all F&B standards, e.g. service, set up, OSH
  • Managing the scheduling, delegating, recruiting & supervising of F&B staff
  • Assisting with setting & maintaining operational budgets
  • Ensure the entire functions team operate with a high level of attention to detail
  • Purchase order requisitions
  • Managing monitoring and collation of linen, furniture and equipment as per function requirements
  • Prepare ad hoc reports as required
  • Ensure all function operations comply with applicable legislation, regulations and policies

To be successful in this role you will have

  • Ability to easily identify events involving important stakeholders
  • Proven success in function/event environment
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain superior standards of service, presentation and hygiene at all times
  • Experience in cafĂ© and restaurant environments and point of sales systems
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal & written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Tertiary qualification in hospitality or extensive experience in a similar role
  • 5+ years’ experience in banquet/ conference market
  • Proven ability to implement and manage operational budgets
  • Approved manager status and RSA certificate
  • Availability to work weekends and varied shifts as per operational requirements
