Full Time Position (38 hours per week)

Yearly Salary $ 56711.20 plus Superannuation (Salary Packaging of up to $15899.94 available) plus $5000 bonus, based on successful KPI’s and Targets.

PCYC was established in 1937 by Police Commissioner William John Mackay. It was a partnership forged with the community via Rotary to provide young people with a safe and positive alternative to the streets. Position Summary

The aim of this position is to work with the Gym & Fitness, Programs, & Services teams, leading on all business development activities. This includes, promoting services to potential leads and existing members and partners, and through this, generating business and membership leads.

Business Development Officer is responsible for the growth of Club’s membership’s numbers, activities participation, meeting new member business targets as well as the retention of existing members. Providing high quality customer service and support to all members is an important part of the role in order to retain and grow membership numbers.

The Business Development Officer will also actively seek and develop relevant partnerships to assist with the growth of the club.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Membership Promotions:

  • Develop and implement a strategy to generate business and membership leads via out bound phone calls, face to face, email, social media and promotional activities and events.
  • To develop and lead in the delivery of Club’s Promotional and Marketing plan.
  • Work collaboratively with State Office’s Media & Marketing staff and other relevant work areas to advertise and promote programs, services and other offers and events.
  • Communicate and collaborate with all work areas to ensure all frontline staff are aware of current offers, services and programs to assist with driving sales targets.
  • Ensure monthly membership and activities sales targets are met.
  • Ensure monthly membership and activities retention targets are met.

Customer Relations

  • Enhance the member’s journey by providing all frontline staff with accurate, timely and complete information.
  • Develop and implement new programs to assist with member engagement and retention.
  • To ensure all of Terms & Conditions and policies are accurately provided to members and business partners.
  • Involved with customer feedback, enquiry handling, business
  • Development opportunities and sales conversions.

Administration:

  • Maintain computer database system according to administration procedures and record accurately the information and file according to PCYC’s Record keeping Policy
  • To report on membership targets, retention numbers, and promotional activities on a weekly basis.
  • To assist the Club’s management team with business development projects.

Staff and Training

  • Support and guide Customer Service Officers dealing with Club enquiries.
  • To assistant the Services Manager in communicating, educating and supporting all staff in promoting sales and retention campaigns.
  • To regularly refer to and utilise all sales procedures developed to assist in achieving sales in a professional manner.
  • Participate in regular staff meetings.

Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S)

  • Follow all OH&S & Risk Management policies and procedures and adopt a responsible attitude towards own safety and safety of others. This includes strict adherence to personal protective clothing, equipment handling requirements and fire safety regulations.
  • In the event of an emergency, to assist the Chief Warden as directed with the emergency.

Selection Criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications in business, marketing or other related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated experience in leisure and fitness industry
  • Demonstrated business and or marketing experience in a comparable work environment.
  • Comprehensive experience with membership services and sales.
  • High levels of customer service experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Good organisational and time management skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Point of Sales systems.
  • Current Senior First Aid & CPR Certificate.
  • Awareness of and commitment to the principles of Work Health and Safety (WHS) and a commitment to attend relevant training.
  • Awareness of and commitment to the principles of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO)

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Links Modular Solutions software.

  • Level 2/Senior/Apply First Aid
  • Current CPR
