As a member of the National Intermodal Finance Team, the Assistant Accountant supports the Operations Accountants and Finance Managers in achieving the business goals through deadline delivery and proven problem solving capabilities.
Key responsibilities include:
Maintain and support the National Intermodal general ledger and month end functions.
Assist in the delivery of management reporting and financial reporting
Assist in the preparation of the annual budget, strategy and quarterly forecasts
Support the internal and external audit and risk reporting, including collation of outstanding
Prepare and coordinate balance sheet reconciliations
Complete fringe benefit and environmental reporting
Essential to this role will be your tertiary qualifications in accounting, combined with accounting and/or business analysis experience in a similar financial role. Utilising your ability to gain a strong understanding of our business by engaging with finance team members, you will work both independently and flexibly and possess a willingness to challenge the status quo in a constructive manner. You will relish the challenge of creating efficiencies, determining business needs and providing problem solving capabilities to assist in the achievement of business goals. Strong Excel skills, knowledge of TM1 and/or PeopleSoft would be desirable, as would any rail or transport industry exposure.
