Nulsen supports people with intellectual and physical disabilities 24/7. We are one of Western Australia’s leaders in this field and we have a job for a dedicated and enthusiastic physiotherapist who is passionate about keeping people with disabilities healthy and active.
Reporting to the Senior Physiotherapist, some of your duties will include:

  • Planning, implementation and evaluation of individual and group programmes, including hydrotherapy and land-based exercise programmes
  • Documentation and reporting on intervention strategies
  • Manual Handling assessments and training
  • Recommendation of appropriate aids and equipment in accordance with the Community Aids and Equipment Program (CAEP)
  • Acting as a consultant through the provision of expert advice and information to residents, service users, families and staff as appropriate
  • Supervision and mentoring of other staff
  • Working with people with disabilities from school age and into adulthood

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy) or approved equivalent, and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
  • Understanding of the needs of people with intellectual and physical disabilities.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as a team member with clients, families, support staff, health services staff and other professionals.
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability in assessment and clinical reasoning which supports planning, implementing and evaluating physiotherapy services.
  • A current Australian driver’s licence, a National Police clearance less than three months old , A Valid First Aid Certificate (including CPR) and a Working with Children Card.

What is desirable:

  • Have at least two years’ experience as a physiotherapist; however new graduates are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Have some experience working with children and adults with disabilities
