The Team and the Role
The Executive & Ministerial Services Branch is responsible for providing advice and support to Treasury including the Executive, the Treasurer and staff. It leads Treasury’s engagement with the Treasurer’s Office and comprises Treasury’s Cabinet & Committees Unit; Parliamentary & Ministerial Services Unit; and Information Access and Governance Unit.
This is a fast moving environment where you will be dealing with a diverse range of people to influence, negotiate, network and adjust your style to suit your audience; as well as demonstrating superior communication and customer service skills that inspire direction and purpose.
Manage Treasury’s obligations in response to information access requests in accordance with relevant legislation, supporting the Director in sound administrative decision-making.
Lead the development and review of policy and Departmental wide training in areas including Privacy and information access in accordance with statutory obligations and best practice.
Implement Treasury policy in ensuring good governance in the representation of Treasury across boards and committees.
Take carriage of projects and provide high-level advice as requested by the Director Executive & Ministerial Services.
Provide support across the Executive & Ministerial Services Branch as required.
Build productive working relationships across a range of internal and external stakeholder, enabling whole of government and whole of Treasury outcomes.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Significant experience in Government, with the ability to provide high-level advice, calibrated to audience.
Refined stakeholder engagement skills, demonstrating the ability to communicate with influence and negotiate to deliver outcomes.
The ability to lead a team, managing staff to build agency capacity.
Subject matter expertise and experience in the areas of statutory interpretation and governance.
Highly-developed analytical, organisational and strategic planning skills, demonstrating judgment in the identification and meditation of risk through a solutions-focused lense.
