The Pathology Services Planner will be part of the Planning team, which sits within the Strategy and Reform portfolio.

The position holder will play a lead role in the development of service plans to inform the development and delivery of pathology services across NSW.

The primary responsibilities of the Pathology Services Planner will be to facilitate, coordinate and manage relevant service planning processes and, to provide advice and support to Directors of Operations, Clinical Streams and Clinicians in relation to the planning and development of pathology services statewide.

The Pathology Services Planner will focus on facility level planning to inform a number of capital developments across the state.

An exciting opportunity has become available within the NSW Health Pathology Planning and Performance Team.

We are seeking to appoint a Pathology Services Planner on a temporary full timebasis within the Corporate, Strategy, Systems and Support portfolio.

The incumbent on this position will play a lead role in the development of service plans to inform the development and delivery of pathology services across NSW. The primary responsibilities of the Pathology Services Planner will be to facilitate, coordinate and manage relevant service planning processes and, to provide advice and support to Directors of Operations, Clinical Streams and Clinicians in relation to the planning and development of pathology services statewide.

Selection Criteria
Tertiary qualifications in a health or planning-related discipline and/or extensive experience in health service planning including processes to support asset strategic planning and infrastructure development.

Demonstrated understanding of and skills in data analysis and critical appraisal.

Demonstrated successful project management experience, and well developed analytical, problem solving and organisational skills.

Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, including well- developed presentation skills, experience in preparing high level comprehensive reports and a proven ability to develop effective working relationships.

Demonstrated ability to communicate, liaise and negotiate with clinicians, managers and staff in pathology services and/or local health districts, and in other government and non-government agencies.

Understanding of the practical implications of policy, planning and service development initiatives on service development and delivery.

High level computer skills and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications.

Current unencumbered NSW Driver’s license.
