Job Type Temporary – Enterprise Agreement 6 months (with option to extend)

Annual Salary Range $96,233.72 – $102,958.76 plus superannuation AC-D

Location Newstead, QLD

Environment Within the NHVR, the Business Services unit offers an array of functions to the wider organisation, facilitating the delivery and achievement of strategic objectives through an innovative service delivery framework.

Primary Objectives Provide support to the delivery of a broad range of contemporary human resource

functions including:

o Induction and on-boarding; o Establishment management (including analysis, planning and reporting) o Employee relations (including case management);

o Performance planning and change management; o Learning and organisational development.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities Support hiring managers by providing advice and tools to conduct a fair and equitable

recruitment and selection process.

Support and oversee the accuracy of payroll services delivered by an outsourced provider and act as point of contact for all employee payroll enquires.

Oversee the appropriate on-boarding and induction process for all new employees is carried out.

Contribute to the development of policies, procedures and processes ensuring that they are relevant and up-to-date and reflect the needs of the NHVR.

Act as a point of contact and advice for management and employees across all human resource function areas.

Deliver effective and timely human resources consultancy service that facilitates the continuous improvement of human resource management practices and procedures.

Develop and maintain human resource metrics and reporting in the areas of performance, productivity and safety that contributes to the overall NHVR strategic objectives.

Develop and maintain systems and processes that support and enhance organisational development.

Develop and maintain effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including Senior Management, Managers, Supervisors and employees.

Contribute to training and development courses and programs necessary to meet training needs, and/or coordinate this activity via internal content experts or external providers.

Prepare concise, high quality, timely advice and correspondence on human resource issues.

Skills and Capabilities

Demonstrated high level written, oral and interpersonal skills, including the ability to manage relationships and negotiate desired outcomes and self-manage conflicting priorities.

Highly developed conceptual, analytical, problem solving and evaluation skills with the demonstrated ability to develop and implement innovative and strategic solutions to complex issues to deliver improved business outcomes.

Demonstrated experience in the preparing and implementing training and development programs.

Demonstrated experience in similar human resource roles working across several human resource functions.

Undertake travel as required.

Qualifications and Experience Essential to the Role

Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar human resource related roles is required.

Sound knowledge of current employment legislation

Experience in establishment management (including reporting)

Highly Desirable:

Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or business experience.

Experience and prior working knowledge of the heavy vehicle industry.

Additionally, the successful candidate will be required to undergo criminal history and background checks. All NHVR employees are required to comply with legislative and regulatory requirements and organisational policies and management standards.
