    Role Purpose:

    To support the claims operational teams by providing Rehabilitation support, services and advice in order to optimally manage the duration of claims and facilitate a safe and sustainable return to work for our customers

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide technical advice and guidance to the claim teams on the ongoing management of claims from a rehabilitation perspective, across all relevant products
    • Assist development of appropriate strategies on claims in order to effectively manage and reduce claim duration
    • Responsible for identifying appropriate claims for rehabilitation intervention
    • Responsible for sourcing appropriate rehabilitation providers in the market
    • Up-skill Claims Consultants in their knowledge, understanding and application of rehabilitation tools
    • Provide training to staff on rehabilitation on an ongoing basis
    • Develop and maintain close relationships with rehab providers ensuring they are meeting the needs of all MLC stakeholders.
    • Review results and monitor costs involved with rehab providers to ensure that appropriate returns are produced and service levels maintained etc.
    • Provide statistics and details of outcomes to Management in order to effectively monitor the cost benefits of rehabilitation.
    • Deliver Adviser/Employer/Fund education training/presentations where required
    • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders
    • Provide accurate monthly statistics and details of outcomes to Management in order to analyse results obtained on a monthly basis and effectively monitor the cost benefits of rehabilitation
    • Record all referrals within the required rehabilitation database.
    • Actively promote activities that raise the profile of MLC and its employees
    • Deliver a professional and exceptional service to our claims team consistently.
    • Identify and introduce innovative ideas to engage with customers creating new and ongoing positive experiences.

    Skills Required:

    • You must have experience as an Allied Health professional with qualifications in either of Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Rehabilitation Counsellor, Psychologist or Mental Health nurse
    • providing vocational rehabilitation services (preferred)
    • Understanding of Life insurance highly desirable
    • Experience in developing and training people
    • Proven experience in thinking creatively to identify new solutions to problems
    • Exposure to change management as well setting goals, developing, monitoring and implementing plans.
    • Experience collaborating and networking with colleagues and other areas within the organisation and industry
    • Working in a complex or multi disciplinary team where members are interdependent for individual and team success
    • Pursuing excellence, creating best practice and building relationships that create service which supports customer solutions
