Position Summary

We are seeking to appoint an experienced and motivated Kitchen Assistant to join our team based at Hunters Hill, on a permanent part-time basis.

In this role, you will be responsible for:
The cleanliness of all kitchen production and service areas and in any associated facilities in any associated facilities

The correct use of cleaning equipment and chemicals

The cleanliness of all kitchen equipment including but not limited to, equipment used in the production of food and work surfaces

The washing and storage of all operating equipment

Safe and hygienic storage of food product and general stores

Assist with food service as directed by the Head Chef

To be successful in the role, you will have:
Experience in the catering and food services industry (experience in Aged Care preferred)

Previous experience in a Kitchen Assistant or similar role

The ability to follow kitchen cleaning schedules

Proven experience operating dishwashers and maintaining the care of crockery and cutlery

Must be able to work over a seven day roster including weekends and some evening work

Enthusiastic, be willing to learn and take on instructions

Prior training in food safety

Excellent communication skills

A genuine interest in the hospitality/catering industry

Willingness to learn food preparation techniques

Proven ability to work as part of a team
