The Opportunity Professor Dustin Marshall is seeking a life history empiricist with strong empirical and analytical skills, to explore the energetics of individuals, populations and communities, and the interplay between life history traits and energy flow. Experience using cutting edge quantitative approaches is essential. This position will be with the Centre for Geometric Biology within the School of Biological Sciences at Monash University.

As the successful candidate, you will be expected to conduct experiments on aquatic organisms, but more importantly demonstrate a strong conceptual understanding of relevant life history theory and have a demonstrated track record in producing high quality publications.

You will further be expected to maintain consistently high research output in the form of quality publications, supervision of students, development and submission of grant proposals to external funding agencies, contribute more generally to communicating the research activities of the group, and participation in appropriate career development activities.

Other job-related information

  • This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
  • Travel to other campuses for undergraduate teaching and to conduct training may be required from time to time.
  • The taking of leave may be restricted during peak periods of work
