The Opportunity An opportunity exists for a Manager, Partnerships and Development within Industry Partnerships, in the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (Enterprise).
As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for building and maintaining effective working relationships with industry, government and community partners to identify partnership and development opportunities for the University. Reporting to the Director of Industry Partnerships, you will be responsible as a part of an elite team for assisting with the development and coordination of strategic research and innovation initiatives and developing proposals, involving many of the University’s faculties and institutes at a time, and for working with and lending support and advice, when required, to research groups, senior managers, business development managers and operational units for partnering with industry and government.
You will also have a central role in managing the development of major projects, primarily for industry and government related initiatives.
As the successful candidate you will contribute to the development of major industry initiatives and partnerships for the University and undertake a leading role in the management of major industry and government-related projects within the industry partnerships team, including other partnership professionals. This will involve proposal and business case and strategy development, negotiation, strategic advice on major opportunities, tender development and transitional project management and ongoing stakeholder management support.
To be successful, you will have qualifications preferably in engineering, IT, science or other relevant disciplines and extensive business development experience in a research and/or an innovation driven environment, or a combination of extensive relevant experience and education. A strong understanding of the opportunities presented by Industry 4.0, including cyber-physical systems, the Internet of Things and cloud based possibilities, would be highly desirable.
