About the role:

The People & Culture Advice Centre is a new function within the People & Culture team. The Centre provides people leaders with day to day human resources advice to support them in leading their teams and delivering business results.

As the People and Culture Advisor you will provide quality advice to people leaders over the phone on day to day people matters. Joining a newly created team, you will have the opportunity to get involved in process improvements and coaching our leaders through significant transformation.

This position consists of a roster of 11am to 7pm throughout the winter months and 12pm to 8pm in the summer months.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide sound quality HR advice to deliver business outcomes for people matters including recruitment, performance, grievances, policy interpretation and application
  • Coach leaders on HR processes and procedures to upskill their capability
  • Consult and collaboratively work with internal and external stakeholders to escalate queries where required
  • Coach leaders on employee relations areas give them the appropriate tools to ensure structured and effective outcomes are achieved
  • Ensure ongoing legislative compliance in relation to workplace practices
  • Advise people leaders of the possible risks associated with different proposed courses of action with regards to people matters
  • Ensure advice regarding employment conditions, workplace arrangements and benefits are aligned to applicable/relevant national employment standards, modern awards, enterprise bargaining agreements and the national industrial relations strategy

What you’ll bring:

  • 2-4 years’ experience within the People & Culture/Human Resources field in a generalist role
  • Extensive exposure to performance management, misconduct and employee relations
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, ideally in Human Resources and/or Industrial Relations
  • Ability to comprehend and apply employment related legislation, policies and procedures
  • Experience working across and effectively influencing stakeholders across a range of levels within an organisation
  • Track record in developing strong relationships internally, externally, across business units
