We are looking to strengthen the Regional legal team supporting the APAC business group. We are seeking an Associate Attorney, based in Sydney or Brisbane, who will report to the Australian based Senior Counsel.
You will work on a range of transactional, corporate and compliance matters primarily for the Australian Infrastructure and Government Services businesses and with some support to the broader APAC Hydrocarbons business.
We are looking for a lawyer with strong technical skills and an understanding of the requirements for an in-house role.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for a pro-active and enthusiastic lawyer to join a company in its ongoing transition and who wants to make their mark in a period of change. Under the direction of the Senior Counsel you will have a number of functions within the Law Department and the business.
Tender reviews and drafting and negotiating contracts for consulting, engineering and project management services.
Ensuring compliance with KBR’s policies and procedures and legal services are provided within this framework.
Collaborating with the project proposal teams and business to identify legal, commercial and execution risks.
Drafting, reviewing and negotiating MOUs, joint venture, Australian alliance, consortium and other teaming agreements.
Conducting due diligence on joint venture partners and third party intermediaries and drafting due diligence memos.
Drafting, reviewing and negotiating subcontracts and purchase orders.
Assisting in the effective notification and management of professional indemnity insurance claims and maintenance of sufficient professional indemnity coverage.
Providing general legal advice on a range of issues, including, confidentiality agreements, advising on commercial leases, employee related issues, licensing issues, routine business contracts and setting up and dissolving entities.
Assisting with corporate secretarial support for the Regional entities.
Able to manage a high volume of work within agreed or required deadlines.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified lawyer with at least 3 years PQE. Relevant industry experience is preferred, but high quality candidates without industry experience will be considered. No relocation will be provided.
This will be an extremely busy role and the successful applicant may be required to work outside of core hours and travel to meet business requirements.
