JPL Tax and Business is a well-established Perth based CPA accounting firm.
Position: Accountant

Salary: $55,000 plus Superannuation

Our firm was established in 2011 and involves over one thousand clients in Perth.
Currently we need a high-caliber accountant to join our team to meet firm’s growth and staff restructure. As we have a number of overseas clients, candidates with bilingual skills are essential. We have a strong focus on staff training and offer a co-operative working environment for you to grow professionally.
Key duties may include but not limited to:
Responsible for the accounting function including preparing financial reports, budgets, reconciliations and other reports according to financial needs. Assist in and provide advices on affairs such as tax return, fund management, cost and profit management and etc. The accountant is responsible for providing services regarding to clients’ requirements
- Provide advices and recommendations to clients on establishing and amending of accounting and budgeting policies.
- Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliation management. Prepare financial statements and interpreting these figures to clients and stakeholders including statutory bodies, shareholders, management and etc.
- Analyse and examine operating costs and other expenditure, conduct report and provide amending recommendations.
- Assure the accuracy and completeness of information contained in the financial reports, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
- Conduct financial investigations and providing advice including financial and taxation regards to business structure and operations.
- Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns for individual business owner, companies, Partnerships, Super Fund and Trusts; ensuring compliance with payment, reporting and other tax requirements.
- Preparing bank reconciliations, liaising with banks as representative to ensure adequate funding is available.
- Advice on accounting systems (MYOB) and QuickBooks, provide hand-on bookkeeping training to clients.
- Analyse budget and actual financial data and providing advice on business operations, internal controls and potential risks.
- Business valuation and analyzing the risk of financial instruments. Perform risk assessment in capital investment and give advice.
- Preparation and lodgment of ASIC documentation, providing assurance about the accuracy of information and compliance with statutory requirements.
- Liaise with customers as required (including both local and Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese) speaking customers).
- Other adhoc accounting tasks as required.

Essential qualifications and skills required:
- At least Bachelor degree in relevant major
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (both in English, Mandarin & Cantonese)
- Ability to work well under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail
- Advanced time management and organizational skills
- Be proficient with MS Excel, Word and Outlook applications
- Candidate with MYOB experience is preferred
