  • Due to a promotion, we are seeking an experienced and passionate Health and Safety Leader with a proactive and hands on approach to safety.

    This role provides specialist health and safety advice and support to all stakeholders, working across all levels within the Richmond Acute Division, including executive, management, key leaders and frontline staff, and is accountable for ensuring that robust systems are in place to respond to and support staff who are injured at work.

    In this role you will need to build strong relationships with your internal stakeholders and be confident in communicating the safety message and embedding a culture of safety across the division. You will be an agent of change and improvement and be accountable to work with departments in an effort to eliminate avoidable injuries and risk through behavioural safety strategies, risk assessments, task analysis, incident investigation and training. You will help improve the health and wellbeing of all our employees and assist with the development of a strategic safety strategy in line with wider business priorities and Group Health and Safety strategy.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop a metrics driven Divisional safety strategy including building a safety culture
    • Provide timely and accurate Health, Safety & Wellbeing advice, reporting, support and information to key stakeholders
    • Continuously improve and manage Health, Safety & Wellbeing systems, programs and projects, including legal requirements
    • Complete risk assessments, task analysis and incident investigations
    • Participate in Health, Safety & Wellbeing consultation and committee arrangements
    • Develop and deliver training and staff orientations
    • Conducting lost time incident investigations and workplace assessments
    • Assist in the development, implementation, review and audit of Health, Safety & Wellbeing systems
    • Assist with redevelopment projects

    To be successful for this role you will demonstrate:

    • Extensive Health, Safety and Wellbeing experience in an operational environment
    • Highly developed interpersonal, negotiation, influencing, leadership and written communications skills
    • Autonomys and have an ability to self-manage your work schedule and priorities to drive safety and key KPI’s
    • Personable qualities to facilitate effective relationships with key stakeholders at all levels within the organisation
    • Logical and practical thinking with effective problem solving skills
    • High motivation and be results-oriented
    • A productive approach to working in a team environment
    • A proactive and collaborative approach
    • A relevant tertiary qualification in OHS and/or Risk Management or other related field

    Previous experience in the Health sector would be advantageous.
