EPILEPSY SUPPORT WORKER (0.6 eft 12 months Fixed Term)
The Epilepsy Foundation supports people living with epilepsy and their families to live the life they want. We invite applications for the position of Epilepsy Support Worker (ESW).
The ESW has responsibility for delivery of information, professional support and services to individuals and families living with epilepsy.
In particular this role has the primary responsibility to design, implement and refine person-centred approaches to facilitate self-management with a particular focus on learning about living with epilepsy and maximising participation in setting/achieving goals.
The role of the ESW is to provide support, information and short-term case management and service coordination for clients presenting with numerous or complex scenarios. The ultimate goal is for the client to feel empowered to self-manage their epilepsy and to self-advocate.
This position is part time. Some out of hours work and regional service delivery is required from time to time involving travel throughout Victoria, and interstate with occasional overnight stays paid by the organisation.
Qualified social workers, psychologists or allied health candidates holding agreed equivalent/s, with proven case management experience are invited to apply for this role. Based at Surrey Hills, Victoria the position reports to the General Manager, Operations and offers challenge, opportunity and an attractive, above award remuneration package including salary packaged vehicle and other benefits. Well-developed knowledge of epilepsy is not required but a strong willingness to learn is essential.
Employment is subject to a satisfactory National (or International where applicable) Police Certificate, Working with Children Check, current first aid certificate and current driver’s licence.
