Support delivery of the Latrobe Valley Citizen Science Project by:

maintaining existing EPA citizen science water quality monitoring projects

delivering the citizen science tier of the new air monitoring approach

liaising regularly with volunteers

internal & external reporting

supporting development of & delivering project plans

What will a typical day look like for you?

As an experienced citizen science practioner, you will find your role at EPA rewarding & challenging. Day to day you will be supporting existing volunteers in-person and remotely, meeting formally and informally with colleagues, recruiting and training new citizen scientists, identifying new opportunities in the citizen science space, overseeing citizen science data collection and quality assurance, writing and reviewing plans, arranging and supporting project meetings & participating in usual desk-based work.

Ability to organise projects/programs

Ability to engage & build relationships easily with others, including members of the public.

Ability to lead field-based data collection, analysis & interpretation

Ability to identify innovative approaches and opportunities

Understanding of the importance of quality and risk management, committed to delivery of work that meets client quality needs.

About the team you’ll be joining

The team develops and delivers applied science programs (e.g. Air Transformation, Latrobe Valley Community Air Monitoring & Citizen Science, Yarra and Bay Plan, recreational water quality – Beach Report and the citizen science program).
