EPIC Parenting Program Coordinator (Pilbara)

Part- time position 22.5 hrs/week

About the Role:

As an EPIC Parenting Program Coordinator you will be responsible to the Community Programs Manager for the facilitation and coordination of a broad range of parenting programs across the Pilbara. This program is funded by Department of Local Government and Communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing and facilitating parenting workshops, training seminars and networking opportunities to parents living in the Pilbara region.
  • Coordinating programming and external facilitators to deliver workshops and training both locally and across the region.
  • Delivering workshops to local community.
  • Work alongside partner organisations to generate locally based outcomes for parents
  • Engaging and partnering with a range of stakeholders who are regionally based to ensure that the parenting programs delivered by EPIC meet the local needs of families in the region and are delivered collaboratively. Stakeholders include local high schools, primary schools, other support services, agencies, government departments and child care centres.
  • Provide timely reports in line with the Department of Local Government and Communities (DLGC) requirements to the Community Programs Manager for both qualitative and quantitative purposes.
  • Research and understand current parenting trends within both a regional and national context.

Key Skills:

  • Experience with parenting issues through the delivery of a similar program.
  • Culturally sensitive to a broad and diverse client group with excellent interpersonal skills in engaging with the four key areas- Young Parents, Indigenous Families, Fathers and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) parents.
  • Ability to create partnerships and maintain excellent relationships with key stakeholders that are regionally based.
  • Comfortable with public speaking and delivering training.
  • Ability to travel regionally. To Onslow, Karratha, Hedland and Pannawonica as required in alignment with the program delivery model. Starting with travel for training at the beginning of June
  • High level of initiative, coupled with creative skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
  • Must be able to work at flexible times.
  • Strong communication skills and be able to liaise with variety of stakeholders.


  • Certificate IV in Community Services
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessing
  • Cultural Awareness training

You will need:

  • A Satisfactory Police Check that is no older than 3 months
  • A Working With Children Check or be willing to obtain one
  • A current Driver Licence
