We are currently seeking a Human Resources Specialist to offer generalist support to our Melbourne and Sydney offices as well as be the focal point for Talent Management within Australia. This role provides value to clients and the organisation by anticipating client’s needs and integrating and leveraging HR work process and services to meet these needs. You will partner with key stakeholders to assist in implementing and driving initiatives that support the people strategies and plan.
Another component of this role includes Talent Management for ANZ and offers a unique opportunity to be a key member of a client-centered team within Human Resources Center of Expertise. Strong project and change management skills, along with the ability to design and develop and implement new employee development solutions, will be critical to the success of this role.
This role will also require the ability to think strategically, systemically, and analytically in consulting with key stakeholders within the ANZ organization.
You will report to the Human Resources Manager for ANZ based in Auckland, New Zealand and will be responsible for approximately 120 employees based between the Melbourne and Sydney Offices. The role will also cover all home base employees in Australia. Occasional travel may be required.
Key responsibilities include:
Focal point for all HR issues in our Melbourne and Sydney offices
Educate and provide counsel to leadership and employees on applicable employment law, HR policies and work processes.
Provide support as required for redundancy, disciplinary issues, and other Human Resources related events.
Ensure successful local implementation and application of HR policies and programs.
Talent Management Lead for ANZ which includes shaping the Talent Management portfolio and supporting people leaders.
Develop and implement learning and development initiatives within ANZ, whilst leveraging from the wider APAC and Global Talent Management resources.
Responsible for implementing Dow’s performance management system.
Collaborate with Country Leadership team to resolve people related issues and work on the local initiatives to promote a learning culture and strengthen employee engagement.
Manage the change process to influence and shape the desired culture.
Related University Degree
Prefer a minimum of 6-8 years experience in HR with a bias to L&D or Talent Management
Strong knowledge of Australian labor law and practice
Good communication skills / ability to write and communicate effectively
Good rapport with people / understands what H.R. can bring to the business and proactively provide leadership guidance
Strong change management skills
Strong leadership skills
Organizational savvy to interact with senior leaders
Strong proactive planning, organizational and technical skills.
Positive attitude and works equally well as part of a team or without supervision.
Excellent time management skills.
Desire to work in a fast paced, high calibre environment.
Ability to effectively work through other people and be collaborative, cross-functional and diplomatic.
Knowledge of and experience with HR specialist areas
Experience in a complex organization or consulting role
