    Role Overview

    Due to significant business growth within the Discovery Group, our client is looking to recruit multiple Operations Support Managers. These newly created roles will report to Regional Operations Managers who lead and manage a portfolio of 10-15 parks each within a designated region within Australia. You will assist the Regional Operations Manager to proactively run parks, to drive revenue growth and deliver on their business strategy.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Research, analyse and gain an understanding of the overall market of your Regional Operations Manager portfolio of parks including but not limited to; strengths and weaknesses, target customers, services, economic trends, supply and demand and competitors.
    • Under the direction of the Regional Manager and with support of the marketing team proactively plan and implement sales and marketing activities in line with your customers’ needs that will in turn drive occupancy in the short to medium term
    • Assist in the formulation of budgets, including the ongoing reporting on financial and operation progress
    • Review and distribute park P&L’s, provide insights into key trends and assist in debtor management
    • Maintain strong relationships with the portfolio of Parks to ensure efficient and effective operations including assistance with tasks such as recruitment, training and coaching
    • Lead by example ensuring efficient management practices are employed and Parks are compliant with all safety, statutory and brand standards
    • As a brand ambassador, network with external parties to increase awareness of Discovery Parks as a quality provider of accommodation and visit parks regularly
    • Contribute to developing initiatives to drive occupancy in the short to medium term

    Skills, Knowledge and Experience

    • Extensive experience in sales, marketing, guest experience, or related business position
    • Experience working within retail, travel or hospitality
    • Strong analytical skills and research capabilities
    • Ability to see trends in data and provide insights into improvements
    • Understanding of contemporary sales and marketing principles and practices.
    • Proficiency in Social Media platforms, CMS and the Microsoft suite of products
    • Demonstrated experience in mentoring, mediation and conflict resolution is preferred
    • Unencumbered drivers license is essential
    • Previous experience conducting business development activities and brand promotion is desirable
    • Tertiary or post graduate qualifications in tourism, business, marketing, hospitality or similar discipline is highly advantageous
