New Zealand-based opportunity for an experienced and professional Asbestos Consultant
with demonstrated experience in Asbestos, Soil and Bulk sampling.
Our client provides a truly professional service, specialising in providing analytical, testing and sampling to a broad range of clients, and which is rapidly growing within the New Zealand market. As a result, they are now seeking an experienced Asbestos Consultant to join their team based in Dunedin, New Zealand.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, your role will include hazardous and asbestos surveying, project management, asbestos air monitoring and clearances, sample collection, asbestos in soil sampling, occupational hygiene (exposure sampling / monitoring) and fibre counting analysis. You will travel to site locally and domestically as required, and at times this may require weekend work.
In order to be considered, the successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following qualifications and experience:
1-2+ years industry experience;
Bachelor of Science and/ or extensive experience from a scientific environmental research background;
Extensive knowledge of asbestos in air and bulk identification
Extensive knowledge of asbestos and Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) – surveying and managing;
Comprehensive management of ISO quality systems and guidelines – ISO9001, ISO17025;
Understanding of relevant AS/NZ standards;
In addition, it is expected that the leading applicants will have:
A high level of interpersonal and communication skills;
Driven and focused on continual improvement;
Exceptional time management skills;
A sound knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
