The Planning Assessment Commission is the independent statutory body providing expert scrutiny and advice on some of the State’s key development and environmental matters. The Commission is committed to improving transparency and independence in the decision-making process of the NSW planning system.
The Commission’s functions include reviewing and advising on State significant development and planning matters when requested, and determining State significant development and infrastructure projects under Ministerial delegation. The Commission works on a wide range of controversial and complex projects, including wind farms, coal mines, power stations, industrial sites as well as large-scale urban projects.
About the role:
The Team Leader is a key member of a small multidisciplinary team responsible for providing specialist planning and administrative support to the Commission. This role offers a great opportunity to work closely with the PAC members, who are highly experienced professionals with a wealth of knowledge and expertise across a broad range of planning-related disciplines.
The role will appeal to those who are interested managing and developing people whilst strengthening their existing skills in environmental assessment, community consultation and stakeholder engagement. Experience working on the environmental assessment of large infrastructure and resources projects, whilst not mandatory, is desirable.
Essential Requirements/Skills and Experience:
Degree in planning, environmental management, engineering or other relevant discipline
Demonstrated knowledge of and working experience with relevant environmental and planning legislation and assessment processes

Role status: This constitutes full-time ongoing employment under the Government Sector Employment Act 2013.
