About the role: Planning Officer

As part of the Sydney Region East team, you will be responsible for the assessment of planning proposals, finalisation of Local Environmental Plans and working with stakeholders to resolve complex planning issues across the eastern portion of Metropolitan Sydney.

As a critical member of these teams, the role involves working with key internal and external stakeholders including local government, other government agencies, the private sector and the community to deliver on the Government’s priorities for the region.

To be successful in this role, you will have experience in stakeholder engagement, negotiation and project management.

Essential requirements:
Relevant university degree qualification
Demonstrated knowledge of relevant planning and environmental legislation and processes
Willingness to travel and Class C Driver’s Licence

Role status: This constitutes ongoing employment under section 43 of the Government Sector Employment Act 2013.

A talent pool may be created for future ongoing and temporary vacancies and is valid for a period of up to 12 months.
