  • The Correspondence Officer is accountable for preparing and critically reviewing high quality correspondence, briefings and other forms of specialised correspondence, as well as undertaking other administrative tasks to meet the business units needs.

    Duties include but are not limited to;

    • Coordination and preparation of high quality written advice
    • Drafting correspondence and briefings consistent with Government Policies
    • Critically reviewing and examining written responses prepared by others, including editing, proofreading and formatting
    • Manage deadlines for stakeholder correspondence
    • Providing support and advice to staff on all aspects of electronic correspondence systems
    • Coordinate tracking, handling and storage of correspondence and other documents using electronic tracking system
    • Assist the senior correspondence Officer of the unit by undertaking special projects

    To be eligible for this position you must have proven experience in the following;

    • Service delivery under strict time constraints
    • Proven experience in ministerial correspondence
    • Drafting and editing critical and sensitive correspondence
    • Working to tight deadlines, multi tasking and high attention to detail
    • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
    • Experience with Objective Electronic Document Management System
    • An understanding of political processes and protocol
    • Good research, analytical and interpretive skills
