    The Position

    This role is based at Rolleston, a well-established multi service site consisting of a large catering scope, site transport ,accommodation cleaning and mine site cleaning. You will be working 2 weeks on, 1 week off roster, flying in and out of Brisbane. Drive in, drive out applicants from Rolleston, Springsure and surrounds will be highly regarded. Applicants with catering and food safety experience will be highly considered.

    As the Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) Advisor, you will be responsible for the continual development and implementation of operational safety, health, environment and quality assurance policies and systems, risk management, compliance and training. Importantly, you will be responsible for providing specialist advice along with delivery of effective HSE programs, compliance with the Compass Group Quality Standards and for playing your part in developing a culture committed to these programs. Your role will require you to provide guidance and support to team members on site, working closely with Operation teams and Management.

    Key Duties

    • Customise our independently certified and accredited Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Management Plans to reflect site specific and client systems and assist operational management with the daily implementation of these plans
    • Support operational management in achieving best practice through innovation-driven continual improvement from research and links to industry experts, suppliers, manufacturers and peak bodies
    • Ensure site wide compliance with health, safety and environmental procedures ensuring compliance with the Compass Group Quality Standards
    • Development and implementation of operational safety, health, environment and QA policies and systems
    • Train, support & provide guidance to site management to ensure compliance to the safety, health, environment and QA management systems
    • Risk management and effective delivery of HSE programs
    • Provide specialist advice to ensure activities are undertaken in accordance with all legislative and client requirements
    • Deliver and assist in the development of company training courses
    • Champion the behavioural based ‘Our Safety Culture’ framework as a systematic and proactive strategy to achieve zero harm

    The Person

    • A minimum of 3 years’ experience as an Occupational Health and Safety professional ideally with catering and food safety experience
    • Tertiary Qualification in WHS (minimum Diploma level) and current Cert IV Training and Assessment
    • Demonstrated experience implementing and monitoring HSE programs in a multi-service environment
    • Experience in internal auditing and compliance
    • Excellent training and communication skills
    • Demonstrated experience in establishing & maintaining relationships with clients, management & staff
    • You will be a hard working team player with excellent coaching and communication skills and the ability to influence a diverse work group
    • Strong leadership skills and the ability to work as part of a team
    • Ability to work in a dynamic and competitive environment that is exciting and challenging
    • Pro-active, well organised approach to work independently with excellent communication/presentation skills
    • Experience working in a remote or harsh environments including previous FIFO work is desired but not essential
