Compac is a TOMRA Group Sorting Company – TOMRA Sorting offers the widest range of food sorting and peeling equipment available in the food industry today. TOMRA supplies optical sorting solutions for a multitude of food applications, for fresh and processed food, from farm to fork.

You will have the opportunity to become a key contact for our customers by developing your expertise in our hi-tech systems and equipment; from detailed in-house designed software to electronic equipment and enjoy the diversity of tasks offered: –

  • Checking solenoid timing, weigh bridge set up, parts swap out, setting up software
  • Installing, commissioning and training operators for new installations and upgrades of equipment
  • Assisting with the provision of pre season service on equipment
  • Providing market intelligence to the company’s development teams.

Whilst primarily supporting Australian clients there will also be some international travel including training in the New Zealand head office.

The ideal candidate will have: –

  • An enquiring mind and the aptitude to learn quickly
  • Well developed computer literacy
  • Engineering qualifications in Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronics, or similar
  • Strong fault finding and problem solving skills
  • A mechanical aptitude
  • Exceptional interpersonal & communication skills; able to talk through technical issues and train customers in the use of equipment

The work can be both physically and mentally demanding at times and does include up to 50% travel away from home. It goes without saying that you’ll be self motivated, organised, able to react quickly to work requirements and also able to quickly build rapport and strong working relationships.
