Your new role

Based in the Melbourne head office, you will be responsible for leading the BI team to strategically design and implement BI software and systems, including integration with databases and data warehouses. This includes selecting, blueprinting, gathering requirements, designing, and rolling out BI solutions and reports to end users.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Review and analyse the BI framework in accordance with the selected methodology and assist in defining the analytics strategy and vision
  • Establish and monitor governance and controls.
  • Significant experience working in the ICT industry within a leadership role developing BI solutions, data warehouse design and development, ideally using the Microsoft BI stack.
  • Experience managing a multi-cultural, geographically distributed team.
  • Evaluate new BI projects to determine feasibility, high level cost, resource allocation and time estimates to be used in business cases.
  • Research and make recommendations on fit for purpose BI related software products and services.
  • Experience in translating business requirements into application functional, architectural and technical specifications to ensure overall alignment with business strategies.
  • Previous experience identifying and rolling out a reporting capability model covering operational reporting through to self service reporting.

Your skills and experience

The successful candidate will have solid working knowledge of Analytical Software including SQL, Tableau or Qlik and a strong understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles, and practices. You will also have understanding of geospatial mapping solutions, working knowledge of machine learning principles and methodologies and an understanding of the operation and analysis of Microsoft relational database software and standards, as well as data retrieval methodologies.
